Alan Augustson, MPP
Social scientist, emergency management consultant, survey methodologist and author. He holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of New Mexico, and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago’s Harris School. He also attended Norfolk State University and the University of Illinois.
He has worked with the U.S. Census Bureau, the Government Finance Officers Association, the National Opinion Research Center, the University of Illinois and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce; and on contract to the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and many others.
Alan is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and the Virginia State Guard, a former firefighter and medic, and ran for the Fifth Congressional District of Illinois in 2008. He lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico with his wife, Kimberly, and three cats. His daughter, Nova, lives in Virginia.
