Writing for a living is hard to begin with, and of course it’s even more so when you’re low-income to start. As things exist right now, I cannot look for conventional work while caring full-time for my disabled wife. My writing is probably the only item from my skill set that’s been marginally successful, and probably the only shot I have left at truly making something of myself.
But of course the world is glutted with authors, a literary slagheap with a handful of gems buried therein. Going the conventional publishing route means years of toil while The Man decides whether he can sell enough cheeseburgers with it to make it worth the writer’s pittance.
Professional writing these days is done here. The reader is the only client, the only critic and the only patron.
So — yep — I’ve set up a Patreon for those readers who would care to support my work. If you’re enjoying Protocol Six, Rust, or Antark and want to see where these stories go from here, let me invite you to lend your support to my efforts to make a living from it.
Here’s the link, and thank you for your consideration!
